Judd Apatow Returns To TV With GIRLS

The last time Judd Apatow brought us a show it was Undeclared. Before that it was Freaks & Geeks. While critics loved both, audiences didn’t — or at least not enough to justify a primetime slot on network television.

While I’m giving Judd Apatow a lot of clout here, it should at least be noted that Lena Dunham leads the cast as well as writing and directing the show… and creating it.

Apatow and gang have moved over to HBO where new series Girls premiers in April 2012. HBO has just released a first teaser for the show and it seems in keeping with the “funny reality” genre that the Apatow crew have brought us in the past.
