Sony owns the Spider-man franchise. Movie studios love franchises. It’s a way for them to create a slew of movies, gain audience loyalty and sell lots of movie tie-in crap. Was the first Spider-man trilogy great? Not at all. Was this any better? Nope.
The plot changed a bit from the original series but it’s essentially the same movie. The producers wanted to make the movie more “realistic”, because Christopher Nolan made a franchise that nobody will shut up about how awesome it is.
